Hong Kong trip

Day 1 (22/April/17)

We took the morning flight at 7:30AM with Singapore Airlines. Upon arrival at Hong Kong airport, we bought a 3 adults combined ticket to take Express train to Hong Kong station. The 3 adults combined ticket which can be purchased at the customer service counter costs $240, which costs less if you purchase individual ticket at the automated ticketing machine, which costs $100 per adult ticket.

We took a taxi from Hong Kong station to City Garden Hotel. I learned that we could actually take hotel shuttle bus H4 to save some money. The room size of hotel is quite comfortable to house one double bed and an extra bed. It is larger than what I imagined before the trip. The other good thing is bath tub I can use to bath my toddler.

Lunch at 添好运 near to our hotel:
Their famous Cha Siew Pork Bun is a must-eat

We then went to Tsim Sha Tsui to have good view of the business district skyscrapers.

In the late afternoon, we went to the Temple Street at Jordan. I regretted going to this place as it is nothing special. It is like the temple street in Chinatown Singapore. We were hungry and tried to look for convenient place for dinner. We found this noodle shop 谭仔云南米线 They served very large portion of noodles. We went to Australia Milk Company at opposite side of the street for desserts. We then called it a day.

Scrambled eggs with bread is a must-try

Day 2 (23/April/17)

We went to Yat Lok Roast Goose 一乐烧鹅 at Central station. The food is good but I found out they are many choices of Roast Goose restaurant around the Central, even Causeway Bay area.

The next stop for us is Repulse Bay located at the Southern part of Hong Kong. We took bus 6X from the bus interchange near Hong Kong Station.

The old lady was playing with Junxi and made him very excited. One good thing about Hong Kong people is they are very friendly towards babies and young kids.

Repulse Bay has some of the very expensive properties in HK

We had late but sumptuous lunch at 翠华 Restaurant. They are a chain restaurant and open 24 hours a day.

This is a must-eat. Be warned of the hot chilli!

We happened to bump into street protest by Falun at Central. This can only happen in Hong Kong, not in mainland China. This is a political headache for Beijing and a challenge to Hong Kong's "one country, two systems".

Smaller crowd that is against the Falun group

Light dinner with egg tarts at Honolulu Cafe at Wai Chai 湾仔

Another dish with tomato vegetable soup goes with the usual nice bread

Day 3 (24/April/17)

Day 4 (25/April/17)

My favourite breakfast place near hotel: 知粥常乐。 The name itself is easy to remember and very meaningful.

Victoria Peak

Lunch at 兰凤园

Day 5 (26/April/17) @ Macau

We took shuttle bus from Macau Ferry terminal to the Venetian. There was rain so I changed my original plan which was to go to Senado Square first.

We went straight to the Senado Square and the Ruins of St. Paul immediately after lunch.

Yee Shun Dairy Company for desserts:
