Struggling with sins

Hebrews 12:4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.

Romans 6:11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

Matthew 5:29-30 If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

Sins bring us spiritual death. When we are spiritually dead, our physical body also decays faster and the feeling of "death" is very real. We must resist sins fiercely even to the point of death. The price for walking in righteousness may be high as we have to give up temporary pleasures. The price for walking in darkness and evil is much higher. We yield to Satan's rule and it leads us to death.

We must obey God all the time as nothing can beat our eternal security in Christ. Is there something if I do (or don't do) will cause our eternity to be at stake? If not, just do it / don't do it. The devil cannot harm us when we obey God's will unless our time is up in God's sovereign plan. God also promised rewards in Hebrews 12:11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
